My Little Sister's B-day

So, June 5th, my little sister turned 18! Crazy, I know.

Anywho, she was out of town that weekend for cheer camp, so I went out to my parent's new house and my mom & I made her a (surprise!) cake.

Here's the top...I was much closer to being parallel than before, but my letter sizes for each row were not quite equal. However, I did experiment with block letters with pretty good results!

And here's the side view:

My large dots still need some practice so they're smoother, but overall I was happy with it.

The biggest creativity in this cake was on the inside (which I don't have any pics of because I didn't eat any!).

I made a chocolate fudge cake with a vanilla pudding filling and then my buttercream icing.

Normally, my cakes are white cake with buttercream filling and icing. This was my first pudding filling. Everyone said it was delish, and I am totally inspired to start trying all kinds of new flavor combos!

This month, I'm taking CakeArt2: Intermediate Buttercream. I'll also be making up my 3rd session from CakeArt1, which I missed due to my knee surgery. So I'll have cake classes on June 16th, 22nd, 23rd, and 30th! Super excited!
